Safeguarding Training & Consultancy Services (STCS) was established in 2014 by Seamus Doherty. Seamus has almost 30 year’s experience across health and social care and has dedicated his career to the delivery of safe, high-quality services that promote positive outcomes for service users, their families and the organisations that support them.
Seamus has worked with a diverse range of London Boroughs, Local Authorities, County Councils, local, national and international charities, national and international social justice and research organisations, as well as religious and faith organisations. He is also a Safeguarding Specialist for a major National Housing Association.
Seamus sits on a broad range of Safeguarding forums. These include: MAPPA, MARAC, Prevent, ASBAG, Serious Violence, Suicide Prevention, Self-Neglect & Hoarding, CSE and Modern Slavery panels.
He is vice-chair of an influential London Safeguarding forum, a member of a number of Professional Steering Groups, regional and national Safeguarding forums, a member of the London Modern Slavery Network and is one of 9 London Safeguarding Adults Review (SAR) Champions.
Seamus has seen thousands of cases referred under Safeguarding Policies and Procedures but despite this, no two cases are ever the same. People come with (and from) relationships, environments and circumstances that are as unique as their fingerprints and each has their individual experiences, emotions, needs, desired outcomes etc. and that we must listen to each and every one and act accordingly.
STCS works with organisations who want to change and grow and provide high-quality support, embrace the principles of Safeguarding, staff training, supervision, monitoring, risk assessment and policy development and embed these principles within the services they provide in a way that makes them beacons of excellence.
